Review on It’s A 10 Miracle Blowdry Volumizer (..and GIVEAWAY WINNER!)

Happy Monday, Divas!

Did everyone have a good weekend? Comment below and tell me what you did!

Today I am reviewing It’s A 10 Miracle Blowdry Volumizer. I am obsessed with It’s A 10 products in general so I was excited to try this!

THE PRODUCT: Claims to add volume, shine, humidity resistant, build up free, hold hair style, UV protectant, non flaking, touchable thickness, not sticky and never crunchy. This is a spray when damp type of root booster. Is geared for fine and thin hair.

THE PACKAGING: Tall can similar to a can of hair spray, has a spritzer nozzle. Cap easily comes off and stays put when on. Thin and sleek can make it easy to carry in a travel bag.

I bought it on Amazon for $14. When I got it in the mail I was stoked to try it the next day. After my shower, I towel dried and spritzed in my roots and all over. It says to apply generously and I did so.

From the claims on the bottle, it did add extra volume but I didn’t feel like it gave me more shine. I did feel like it was humidity resistant and holds a hairstyle. It did not flake, get sticky or crunchy (unless you use too much will get a LITTLE bit of stickiness and crunch, eek!).

Overall, this product is a decent root booster. Would I call home about it? No. If you apply too much, it does become crunchy but the right amount (you have to play around with it to get the right amount for your hair) it is nice and still soft with some bounce and volume. It does feel like it is drying out my ends though so I am not too satisfied with it. It is not my favorite It’s A 10 Product, that’s for sure. Would I buy again? Nope. I am obsessed with all of It’s A 10 products MINUS this one, unfortunately. This product leaves me wanting something more (..or much more!)

I feel like this product might be perfect for someone who doesn’t have a lot of dry damaged hair caused from sun, or color treatments.

Have you tried this product? What did you think about it?

Quick Tips To Control Oil & Acne

If you are acne prone, have acne and/or your face looks shiny and slick even after only an hour of doing your makeup, this post is for you! How you take care of your skin prior to makeup is what is going to prevent oil and acne.

1.) Always wash your face twice.

By washing your face twice, you are first washing off your makeup and dirt and the second round you are actually washing your skin. I recommend Cetaphil Oil Control Foam Wash because it is gentle on the skin and not going to over dry your skin. It also is recommended by dermatologists. I use it on my face.

Exfoliate through the week.

If you can get your hands on a facial cleanser with glycolic acid in it, that is the best for acne prone skin that has enlarged pores and blackheads. I use MD Forte Facial Cleanser 2 which has a little extra glycolic acid in it. Use every other day or every 2 days. This is good for people with a really oily T-zone! If it dries out your cheeks use only on the T-zone. If it dries out your skin a lot, use once a week.

Drinks lots of water, smile more and worry less.

Easier said than done – but drinking more water is going to release more toxins. Smile and stay stress free as much as possible. During your menstrual cycle or right before it stay away from greasy, salty and spicy foods. If you do, drink a lot of water to flush that our of your system. Meditation is good for helping to calm stress or break away from daily life stressors.

Have coconut oil daily.

Put a little teaspoon of Pure Extra Virgin Olive Oil in your coffee every morning. Coconut oil is so good for hair and skin. You will start to notice a difference in your skin after having coconut oil daily. It is part of my morning routine!

Do NOT use hydrogen peroxide or witch hazel on your skin.

This is a MYTH. It is not good for your skin. It will strip away natural oils that your skin needs causing massive oil over-production (which means acne). Stay away! 🙂 Just stay away! 🙂 Instead, find a toner that is recommended for your skin type if you must have one. Otherwise, wash your face and let it breathe and do NOT touch it!

Use oil free makeup products.

Obviously, this is a big one. Check the ingredients. Foundations, powders, etc. that are oil free are going to help acne and obviously oil! Also using a mattifier before foundation is nice.

10 Beauty Mistakes I Used To Make

Hello Divas! I was tagged by Hope at Beauty & Bliss on this tag and I was super intrigued when I saw her post on it. I was thinking, “What beauty mistakes did I used to make?” and it literally took me back to a time where I had a bad perm, bad colored hair, oversized clothes and acne all over my forehead! (Eeeek!) So it got me really thinking – “What were they?!” Here are my 10 Beauty Mistakes I Used To Make. (…and don’t let me catch you making these same ones!)

#1. Not cleansing my face twice.

I used to wash my face once… and that was it. Now some of you may be saying, what is wrong with that? There is sooo much wrong with that. If you wear makeup – or anything on your facial skin in general – WASH YOUR FACE TWICE! First to clean the makeup off….second to clean your actual skin! I used to get so many breakouts! When I started washing my face twice – my skin started to really clear up!

#2. Wearing too dark foundation.

There is nothing wrong with giving yourself a bit of a bronzed tan look to your face – but not 3-4x shades darker than your skin. When I was in highschool I wore a much darker foundation because I wanted to look tan….and I always had to wear long sleeves to hide my pale arms. I was always nervous to put my hands by my face so people could tell the difference so I did everything I could to not put ‘hand near face’ – and ALWAYS long sleeves. How lame!!!! 🙂 There is nothing wrong with it being a tad darker than your skin – but definitely don’t wear it too dark!

#3. Using no heat protectant on my hair.

I have been heat styling my hair for a long, long time and not just that – but almost daily. When I was younger though, I did my hair every single day! (and without a heat protectant)… NOT good! I am paying for it now as I get older.. always use a heat protectant people!

#4. Using a tanning bed without goggles.

I cannot believe I am actually admitting this as well as other things I am admitting I did in this blog – but this one is pretty bad! I used to be so addicted to tanning that nothing else mattered. I didn’t want “white circles around my eyes” so I refused to use the tanning goggles. It is so bad to not wear them as your eyes can crystallize from the UV rays and you can slowly go blind. Seriously, this is so very bad to not wear goggles if you use a tanning bed!

#5. Not letting my skin breathe.

When I was younger I wore makeup every single day! I would not go out in public unless my makeup and hair was done. (Wow! Exhausting!) I never let my skin breathe. It is so important to let your skin breathe. I know I really enjoy a clean face nothing on it – with allowing it to just breathe – all those poor pores! Splashing with cold water after washing your face closes up the pores and gives your skin a nice healthy glow.

#6. Brushing my wet hair with a small toothed comb/brush.

My hair is long so naturally out of the shower it can get really tangled. I used to just run a brush or small toothed comb right through it! What the heck? This is terrible and I know I lost a lot of precious hair because of it. So bad – use a wide tooth comb!!! Always!!!

#7. Putting powder over oiliness instead of blotting.

I used to cover up oiliness on my T-zone/nose with more powder. It would start to look so cakey! I started to use blotting papers but I was so obsessed with wanting it perfectly matte I would just put more powder over it. I started to just look like a cake face! (I didn’t care for a while either!) I then graduated to using MAC Blot Powder but started to overuse that to where it wasn’t really helping the over-powdering problem….. and then I finally graduated to blotting paper! 🙂 Yay!!!!

#8. Wearing dark lip liner with light lipstick.

I honestly don’t want to think back to this but yes – for some reason I thought it looked sexy to wear dark wine colored lip liner and a light pink frosty lipstick on my lips. Oh man, it was just TERRIBLE and I cringe if I see a photo. This just speaks for itself. It’s kind of like Pam Anderson 1990’s lips but on crack! LOL!

#9. Not smudging my eyeliner and wearing too much.

This goes along with #8… I used to line my eyes all the way around with black liner! And not smudge…not only was I not smudging but I was wearing way too much! It was just bad…. I really need to post a pic of this. (…mmm maybe not!) It was HORRIFIC!

#10. Not using eyeshadow primer.

I don’t know how I ever made it through my life without using eyeshadow primer! It is life changing!!!!! ‘Nuff said! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed! I tag all of you! Make sure you let me know if you post this on your blog too! Comment below which beauty mistake you liked best in my list above! Also, tell me what your beauty mistakes were 🙂

When I got these earrings in the mail, they were packaged perfectly in a cute tissue wrapper. Attached to a thick card stock was these lightweight adorable earrings.

The thing I love most about these earrings is they are not heavy. A svwarovsky crystal is in the middle of giving it some bling! The hand crafted flower part is made of a soft and slick
“yarn-like but without the fizzies” material that is light and well constructed. I absolutely LOVE these earrings! I feel like these earrings can go with jeans and t-shirt, a dress or even something that is a bit more dressy to add a cute, edgy unique twist! I just love them!

The backing of the earring does not make my ears turn red or itchy! (and I have VERY sensitive ears!)
